Description: DescriptionKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides complex electronic classroom support through a variety of methods which may include digitization of materials (text, images, audio, and/or video) to meet the needs of instructors and researchers.
  • Recommends electronic delivery options for various forms of content based on stated needs.
  • Troubleshoots and supports hardware and software problems that interfere with the creation and/or delivery of content.
  • May consult with faculty on different approaches to content based on their goals for instructional use or research.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of current and emerging modes of digitizing text, images and video for delivery via the Internet.
  • May hire train and supervise student and temporary employees.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • Serving as primary audio engineer, provides or supervises audio and lighting services, for rehearsals and performances presented at the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts and occasionally other campus venues.
  • Consults with performers, artistic faculty, directors and guest artists to determine the audio/visual needs of all concerts.
  • Engages and oversees vendors for installation and manages on-site setups/strikes of additional equipment as needed.
  • Coordinates logistics of web streaming of events and simultaneous broadcasting to other campus venues.
  • Manages control booth at Emerson Concert Hall including equipment storage, maintenance and inventory.
  • Records concerts on various formats and edits some concerts for radio broadcast.
  • Supervises work study students and temporary audio crews.

Position is supervised by the Associate Director of Production for the Schwartz Center Concerts Division.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years of college coursework and one year of multimedia experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in an instructional technology setting preferred.
  • Previous experience in a performance venue required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds preferred.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • This position is a key member of the production team in the presentation of performances, requiring regular work hours on nights and weekends.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
