Our Camp Butternut Springs overnight camp is a place where energetic and passionate staff come together to provide a safe and positive learning environment for girls ages 5-17.As an Arts + Crafts Program Intern, you will be critical to the success of the summer as you supervise and deliver progressive arts & crafts learning experiences for campers. In this role, you will manage the development, facilitation, and supervision of arts & crafts activities.Work Commitment:Dates: June 1- August 3Includes staff trainingCamp is closed June 19 and July 3-5; these days are unpaidWeekly Schedule: 11:00 a.m. Sunday-7:00 p.m. FridayDaily 2-hour break Monday-ThursdaySaturdays offCamp Staff Benefits:This is a paid internship positionPay: $125 a dayIncluded room and boardYou may be eligible for college credit in some cases, or be able to use camp as an independent study, practicum, or internship experience – ask your advisor or talk to a professor at your school about how the skills you will learn directly relate to your major and will make you a stronger job candidate.First Aid and CPR certificationOptional Archery, Lifeguard, and Aquatic Small Craft training available if interested.Access to GSGCNWI Employee Assistance ProgramQualifications:Loves to interact with children and has prior experience working with children of various agesEnjoys spending time outdoors and has prior experience working in an outdoor settingMust be 19+ years old and possess a high school diploma or GEDWillingness to work and, at times, live in an indoor and outdoor camp setting, which includes working irregular hours with limited or simple equipment, rustic facilities, wildlife and insects; limited technology while at camp, and daily exposure to sun, rain, and other weather conditionsResponsibilities:Design and create engaging and educational arts and crafts lessons that enhance creativity and promote environmental awareness and safety.Ensure arts and crafts activities are age-appropriate and program-specific, and result in tangible projects for campers to take home.Lead interactive arts and crafts sessions and creative projects, including painting, pottery, weaving, nature-inspired art, textiles, and sewing.Oversee craft program spaces, including prepping supplies for use.Provide fun and positive leadership to campers, fostering a supportive environment for growth, friendship, and new experiences.Demonstrate problem-solving, collaboration, and initiative to campers and staff.Assist the Program Director with planning, organizing, and executing camp activities, including leading girl-led programs and ensuring safety standards.Oversee campers and staff during activities, meals, and transitions, and deliver programs in your specialty area.Assist with managing program supplies, maintaining camp equipment, and ensuring a clean and organized camp environment.Apply today to join our summer camp team!Powered by JazzHR
