The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in family law, with exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive client matters with the utmost confidentiality and care. As a key member of our firm, you will be instrumental in managing a variety of family law cases, including divorce, custody disputes, support modifications, and more.Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and file family law pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
- Prepare case files for hearings, trials, and mediations, including organizing evidence and exhibits
- Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, correspondence, and other documents
- Assist attorneys in managing caseloads by maintaining calendars, tracking deadlines, and ensuring timely completion of filings
- Manage client communication, providing updates, answering questions, and gathering necessary information
- Prepare and submit financial disclosures, declarations, and other required documents
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third-party experts to ongoing cases
- Conduct factual investigations, including gathering relevant documents, records, and testimonies
- Support attorneys during hearings, trials, and depositions as needed
- Maintain case management databases and ensure all documents are accurately filed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Family Law Paralegal
- Advanced knowledge of family law procedures, particularly in California
- Proficiency with legal document preparation, court rules, and e-filing
- Familiarity with legal software and case management systems
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Must have Paralegal Certificate
- Must type at least 70 words per minute.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to interact professionally and
- compassionately with clients
- Attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
- Paralegal certification from an accredited institution
- A team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and case management
