Position Highlights The School of Art at the University of Arizona is accepting applications from dedicated educators for Principal Lecturer in Art History. The typical teaching load is two courses in each of the Fall and Spring semesters, but factors such as class size may effect that load. This career-track appointment is not eligible for tenure. Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties of the Principal Lecturer in Art History are composed of:

• Teaching two courses during each semester, in accordance with the needs of the Art History Program.
• Overseeing GA’s for the classes, as necessary based on the enrollments.
• Holding office hours to interact with the students enrolled in the classes.
• Engaging in meaningful research in their field of specialization.

Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesThe successful candidate will have:

• Broad knowledge of the field of Art History with a specialization in one or more areas of Art History.
• Ability to demonstrate a record of scholarly publications.
• Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and inspiring students in a classroom setting.

Minimum Qualifications

• A terminal degree in Art History or a closely related discipline.
• Experience teaching at the university level.

Preferred Qualifications

• A PhD in Art History.
• At least 5 years of teaching at the university level.
