Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Draft, review, and edit legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, subpoenas, complaints, interrogatories, discovery requests, legal briefs, affidavits, and correspondence under the supervision of a lawyer.
  • Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and conducting research on legal articles.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel.
  • Maintain case calendars, tracking deadlines and filing requirements.
  • Review and manage incoming and outgoing discovery requests and responses.
  • Stay current with legal developments and changes in regulations relevant to the practice area.
  • Conduct client meetings and assist with client communications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in family law.
  • Paralegal certification from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and software (Lexis), case management systems (Clio), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of legal ethics and confidentiality requirements.
  • Experience in handling discovery related tasks.
  • Available to start after March 2025
