Description: Family Law Attorney (5+ years experience)Our growing law firm is looking to hire an experienced family law attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should have worked in the family law field as legal counsel for at least 5 years and be able to operate independently on all aspects of the family law process, plus have the skills to facilitate successful outcomes for our clients by effectively negotiating and crafting oral arguments.   • Leverage the support of associate attorneys and paralegals to effectively navigate issues from separation agreements, document drafting, and civil litigation.
  • Prepare or review associate attorney preparation of necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate.
  • Analyze client situations and provide experienced strategy on a proper course of action for their case.
  • Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings.
  • Track billable time and be accountable for self and supporting team to meet or exceed a weekly hours requirement.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
  • MUST have at least 5 years experience working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property)
  • Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association)
  • Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case
  • Experience mentoring new attorneys and working within a multilevel law practice
  • Must have sufficient experience to work independently on cases and retain new clients
  • Must be willing to travel locally within the greater Charlotte area for mediations, depositions, and court
