Description: Under the general supervision of the Site Administration, the after school teacher is responsible for providing academic, enrichment, and/or intervention to students through the implementation of their assigned after school program/class as established by the district. The teacher implements applicable district regulations in the programming; provides programming based on the site programming plan; keeps accurate records of attendance and academic progress.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead classroom, small group instruction, and/or online learning following the provided curriculum as applicable to program
  • Provide enrichment activities to students through field trips and experiential learning aligned to the provided curriculum when applicable
  • Attend programming training
  • Organize and make available the time, space, materials, and equipment needed before instruction takes place
  • Promote positive relationships among students by modeling
  • Provide a learning environment that is positive, focused on a growth mindset, promotes diversity, and allows for innovation and successful failures
  • Submit all payroll hours accurately and appropriately to Site Administration
  • Report daily attendance
  • Enforce the school’s established code of conduct
  • Report academic progress and/or grades as appropriate to the program
  • Contact parent/guardian when necessary
  • Follow district procedures and policies for safe operation of the programming
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Can work as part of a team and collaborate with programming staff
  • Maintains a high level of confidential information and be able to follow professional teaching guidelines on confidentiality
  • Ability to understand curriculum and content of the regular school day program
  • Understands principles related to development of youth between 5 and 18 years of age

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:Education & Experience:

  • Current Arizona Teaching Certification in assigned program area preferred
  • Current IVP fingerprint clearance card required
  • Previous experience working with students preferred
  • Preference will be given to certified instructors
  • Priority consideration will be given to PUSD teachers
