Description: Flexible Work Policy: The work for the Lead Data Engineer position is completely 100% remote anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories. This position may have the potential to travel up to 20% dependent on business needs.RESPONSIBILITIES:Review project objectives and determine best technology to apply;Design and build large scale datasets for a wide range of consumer needs;Build, test and implement highly efficient data pipelines using a variety of technologies;Develop best practice standards for solution design and data structures;Analyze new data sources to understand quality, availability and content;Write technical design documentation;Conducts peer code reviews;Create and executes unit tests;Supports QA team during testing;Mentor less experienced members of the development team.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Training:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required;AWS certification preferredRelated Experience:6+ years of professional IT experience;4+ years of data engineering related experience.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Experience overseeing other developers;Proven ability to model data for reporting and analytics needs;Proven ability to analyze and understand existing processes and code;Works and communicates effectively with all levels of management;Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills;Must work well within team-oriented environments.Familiarity with:Use of CI/CD tools (Chef, Jenkins, Bamboo, Git/Bitbucket);Supporting self-service reporting and analytics;Working with semi-structured data.Proficiency in one or more of the following:SQLOracle, MySQL, other relational databasesPythonAWS (ERM, Lambda, IAM, S3)LinuxNice to have:SnowflakeAirflowR or PandasAPI development (Mulesoft)Machine LearningTableauAlteryxKinesis or KafkaUniversal Pay Language:Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
