Description: Our law firm is seeking an attorney ready to represent our client base. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience as a licensed attorney and work closely with the firm’s clients, administrative staff, and senior partners. • Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings
• Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Preside over paralegals, administrative assistants in connection with keeping track of time records, reviewing client billing, setting up client meetings and completing client projects
• Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
• Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution
• Counsel clients by assessing options and determining the best course of action for a successful outcome

Qualifications:

• Required Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; representation of clients for at least 2 years a plus
• Decision-making, public speaking, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and communication skills are a must
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is needed
• Advanced computer skills working with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) required
• Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision
• Licensed to practice law in Missouri and Kansas.
• No prior history of disciplinary complaints or prior malpractice claims.
• Ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in family law or other civil litigation experience.
