Description: Cloud Systems Architect – RemoteRole and ResponsibilitiesThe Cloud Systems Administrator plays a pivotal role in managing and maintaining our infrastructure, with a primary focus on Azure Cloud. This role involves configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing Azure Cloud, Windows Servers, Microsoft SQL, and Microsoft 365 services utilizing PowerShell scripting. The Cloud Systems Administrator collaborates directly with the Vice President of IT and Security and the Manager of IT and Infrastructure to define resource requirements, data needs, desired user experiences, and budget considerations for each company to determine its computing needs.Responsibilities include designing, configuring, operating, and performing maintenance on both cloud and on-premise networking and computer systems, encompassing hardware, software, web portals, internet and intranet connections, firewalls, servers, and security protocols. The Cloud Systems Administrator must quickly adapt to a rapidly growing environment and evolving needs, while creating scalable solutions. The Cloud Systems Administrator is expected to perform these duties and responsibilities in a professional and efficient manner, contributing to the overall success and security of the company’s IT infrastructure.
- Manage and optimize Azure services including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Azure Active Directory, Azure SQL Database, App Services, Kubernetes Clusters, and Azure Site Recovery.
- Manage and administer servers (primarily Windows with some Linux) ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
- Administer and troubleshoot Meraki networking equipment, including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
- Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security patches.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.
- Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate tasks related to server configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of IT infrastructure, including systems, networks, and applications.
- Proactively identify and resolve IT issues, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Participate in IT infrastructure projects, including planning, organizing, and evaluating IT and technical operations.
- Stay current on the latest IT trends and technologies, recommending and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and support business goals.
- Participate in internal and external system audits, preserving assets, information security, and control structures.
- Write and maintain technical procedures and documentation for applications, including operations and user guides.
- Use judgement to balance academic best practices with pragmatism.
- Abide by all obligations under HIPAA related to Protected Health Information (PHI).
- If a HIPAA violation is discovered, whether individually or by another, you must report the violation to the Compliance Officer and/or Human Resources.
- Attend, complete, and demonstrate competency in all required HIPAA Training offered by the company.

Required Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Security Center
- Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications.
- Knowledge of security protocols, firewall configurations, or experience with security audits and compliance (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST)
- Understanding of security best practices and experience with compliance frameworks like HITRUST, SOC 2 and HIPAA.
- Experience in disaster recovery planning and backup strategies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Technical management, information analysis, and expertise in computer hardware/software systems.
- Expertise in data center management and data governance.
- Knowledge of computer networks, network administration, and network installation.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
- Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.

- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.

- Full-time, salary/exempt
- Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT. We cover clients from the West to East Coast, work times must be adjusted to cover meetings in all time zones. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant to industry demands.
Required Education and Experience
- 3+ years of experience in Azure and Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, Azure Security and Compliance, Power Platform, Identity, and Microsoft Teams.
- Extensive experience with systems administration, technical support, networking, cloud computing, web and client-server concepts.
- Technical experience with systems networking, databases, web development, and user support.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration tasks.
- Experience configuring and installing various network devices and services.
- Background in database design in Microsoft SQL.
- Proven experience as a Systems Analyst, Systems Administrator, or similar technical role.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar
- Healthcare IT experience.
- Amazon AWS Cloud experience.
- MongoDB and Snowflake experience.
