Travel is required.Potter County Human Services provides an excellent benefit package.DESCRIPTION OF WORKDuties include investigating general protective services and child protective services referrals, maintaining a caseload, providing support to children and their families, and working closely with other agencies within the community and around the state to provide necessary services. The employee will maintain accurate record keeping in the statewide informational system and must meet all time frames for reporting and record keeping.Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

• On-call and overtime are required.
• Travel is required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
• Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
• A bachelor’s degree with a social welfare major; or
• A bachelor’s degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

If no eligible candidates who live within Potter County apply for this position, candidates who reside in Cameron, Clinton, Elk, Lycoming, McKean, or Tioga counties may be considered.

• You must pass a background investigation.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.

• Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
