Posting SummaryJoining the new Office of Accessibility Services, this position is responsible for ensuring that the University’s digital content, including websites, online courses, and multimedia, is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. Evaluate digital content and platforms for accessibility compliance, create remediation plans, provide guidance and training to content creators, and collaborate with various departments to promote best practices in digital accessibility.
Report to the Director, Office of Accessibility.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field required
  • Minimum of three years of experience in digital accessibility and associated standards/guidelines, web development, or a related field/subject.
  • Experience with WCAG 2.1, ADA, Section 508 compliance, and accessibility evaluation tools.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
  • Experience with accessibility evaluation tools such as WAVE, Axe, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive and accessible digital environment

Desirable QualificationsMaster’s degree
Anticipated Pay Range 65,000-73,000/year

Special Conditions Bargaining unit position, A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
