Description: This opportunity will join an established team focusing on utility-scale solar, storage + wind projects. With an exceptional reputation in the market, the team have identified the need to create a Community and Government Affairs Associate role to support their Development team’s operations.The Government and Community Affairs Associate will be responsible for:

  • Working with the project developers and senior management to identify outreach needs and key stakeholders for individual projects located throughout the Midwest
  • Foster and develop relationships with local decision makers to aid in the successful development of utility scale wind and solar projects
  • Strategize, structure, and negotiate project economic development and community benefits packages with local communities
  • Build project ally relationships
  • Monitor the local political environment as it relates to project development
  • Work with the project team to devise and implement project communication strategies
  • Assist with stakeholder coordination in preparation for and through project permitting processes
  • Coordinate with internal departments, consultants, and external stakeholders to achieve development milestones

  • An understanding of economic development agreements or community benefits packages either from a public agency or corporate perspective
  • Experience with large infrastructure or development projects
  • Exposure to projects in MISO is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to navigate complex political relationships
  • Excellent and precise communication skills
  • Familiarity with zoning regulations and permitting
  • Local government experience
  • Ability to build relationships with landowners, public officials, other project stakeholders or coalition partners
  • Team-oriented while able to independently manage project tasks and goals
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Willingness to travel extensively and spend the necessary time at project sites + with external stakeholders

An established renewable energy company that has coverage across the US for Utility-scale solar, storage and wind projects.With a substantial pipeline of projects in both the early and delivery phase, our client are actively looking to grow their Development team and appoint a Community and Government Affairs Associate to support day to day operations.Their leadership team has over 30 years of experience in the industry and an appetite to continue to do their part in delivering utility-scale projects nationwide.The Government and Community Affairs Associate will be eligible for:

  • $100,000 – $140,000 base salary
  • Annul bonus (30%)
  • Medical, dental and disability insurance
  • 401k plan
  • 3 weeks PTO
  • Ability to work 100% remote

Salary: $100000 – 140000 per year
