This role will be responsible for researching, developing, and writing grant proposals and contract bids for various government agencies. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of government grant and contract processes, a track record of successful grant and contract applications, and the ability to clearly articulate program objectives and outcomes. Strong project management skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and government entities to achieve funding and contract success. Key ResponsibilitiesResearch and Identification of Funding OpportunitiesConduct thorough research to identify grant and contract opportunities from local, state, and federal government sources.Evaluate eligibility criteria and match funding opportunities to organizational objectives and capabilities.Stay up-to-date with government funding announcements and policy changes.Proposal and Contract DevelopmentDevelop, draft, and submit comprehensive, persuasive, and competitive proposals and bids.Collaborate with internal teams to gather the necessary information, data, and documentation for proposal and bid development.Translate complex project requirements and goals into clear, concise, and measurable objectives.Project Management and CoordinationManage the proposal lifecycle, including setting timelines, coordinating team input, and ensuring timely submission.Oversee compliance with all application and submission requirements.Track, organize, and maintain records of grant and contract proposals, awards, and feedback for future reference.Financial Analysis and Budget DevelopmentWork with finance teams to develop accurate budgets, ensuring alignment with project requirements and funding guidelines.Ensure cost estimates and pricing strategies comply with government regulations and maximize the organization’s financial viability.Compliance and Quality AssuranceEnsure all proposals and contracts are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and government agency requirements.Conduct thorough quality checks, including proofing, editing, and compliance review, prior to submission.Track awarded grants and contracts to ensure that project execution aligns with the terms and conditions set forth by funding agencies.Stakeholder Engagement and CommunicationServe as the point of contact for government agency representatives and other external partners during the proposal and negotiation process.Effectively communicate complex programmatic information to stakeholders and government agencies.Support post-award contract and grant management, assisting with amendments, reporting, and compliance requirements. Required QualificationsCitizenship: U.S. Citizen (required for government contract eligibility)Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, and/or government contracting.Knowledge:Extensive understanding of government funding mechanisms, including RFPs, RFIs, and FOAs.Strong understanding of federal compliance and reporting requirements (e.g., FAR, DCAA).Skills:Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an ability to produce high-quality, persuasive content.Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., Asana, MS Project).Financial acumen, including experience with budget development, cost proposals, and pricing strategies.Ability to analyze data and present it effectively.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative work style.Attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience with government contract management and compliance (e.g., SAM, FedConnect, or Grants.gov platforms).Knowledge of specific government funding programs and priorities (e.g., Department of Defense, NIH, or Department of Education).Certification in Proposal Writing or Grant Writing (e.g., CFRE or similar).
