Description: Chemonics seeks a Government Relations Advisor. As a key member of Chemonics’ U.S. Government Business Line’s Communications and Outreach team, the Advisor will lead government relations and industry outreach while also contributing to public discourse around critical issues in the global development sector. The ideal candidate will have connections and experience working with policymakers on Capitol Hill and D.C.-based think tanks. Reporting to the Senior Director for Communications and Outreach, the Advisor will work closely with senior leadership, communications, business development, investment and growth, compliance, and legal teams to develop and implement high-impact, integrated strategies that inform and educate key policymakers and industry leaders and tell the story of Chemonics’ sustainable development work around the world. The Advisor will supervise a senior communications specialist to execute Chemonics’ industry outreach activities, partnering not only with teams across the company but also with industry groups, nonprofit partners, think tanks, and policy influencers. The Advisor will provide real-time, strategic counsel to senior leaders, influence alignment with stakeholders and attend/support execution of a wide range of external events, earned media, influencer, and digital advertising strategies. This position requires exceptional judgment, creative problem solving, attention to detail, action orientation, and results focus. A zest for distilling complex issues into compelling stories and working with a wide variety of stakeholders on sensitive topics is required. This is a hybrid position based in Washington, D.C. that will require significant time attending in-person events, liaising with stakeholders on Capitol Hill, and networking with industry groups and partners.
