Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Senior Sediment Environmental Scientist with 15+ years of experience in sediment remediation, environmental science, and contaminated site management. This leadership position is ideal for a highly experienced environmental scientist who excels in managing complex sediment remediation projects, developing innovative solutions, and mentoring teams. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in sediment site assessments, remedial design, and implementation under CERCLA (Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act) regulations. This role requires a proven ability to drive high-level technical decisions, manage large-scale projects, and interact with clients and regulatory agencies at the highest levels.As a Senior Sediment Environmental Scientist, you will take on a leadership role in managing and directing sediment remediation projects from concept through to post-remediation monitoring. You will be responsible for the strategic direction, technical quality, and regulatory compliance of multiple projects while mentoring junior and mid-level staff. Your role will involve working closely with senior management, clients, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with environmental regulations.We are open to having the candidate work from any location within the US Mainland. And we are also flexible to part time roles along with full time roles as well.Some of the Key Responsibilities will be:
Serve as the primary technical and strategic contact for clients, maintaining and building relationships with key stakeholders. Regularly provide high-level project updates, address technical challenges, and guide clients through decision-making processes. Ensure the timely delivery of reports, presentations, and other client-facing deliverables. * Health & Safety Oversight: Oversee the development and implementation of Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) for field projects, ensuring that all site activities are conducted safely and in compliance with applicable health and safety regulations. Promote a culture of safety within the team and on-site.
