What you’ll do:Integrated Solutions (IS) seeks a Solutions Architect to design and manage complex solutions for customer problems. You will collaborate with program and product managers, engineering teams, and software developers. As a Solutions Architect, you will demonstrate IT excellence across various technology areas, including satellite communications, telecommunications, networking, security, and multi-cloud architectures. Your role involves analyzing customer problems, identifying the best technical options, and working with diverse teams to deliver successful solutions. The day-to-day:

  • Lead the generation, development, and delivery of solutions, aligning technologies to meet customer needs within budget and contract requirements. Identify and address risks while communicating with program managers.
  • Work with business area management in assessing customer needs, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of different options, and ensuring the solution meets industry regulations.
  • Communicate technical project details to collaborators with technical expertise, and translate those details for non-technical customers and partners.
  • Define features, development phases, and solution requirements.
  • Provide specifications for which the solution is defined, managed, and delivered.
  • Inform go/no management decisions regarding new products/projects.
  • Show dedication to projects by being proactive and flexible, able to delegate to teams and assist in areas of weakness.
  • Lead the performance measurement and improvement of our customer’s experience on the Viasat Government Segment.
  • Serve as the primary interface to the customer(s) representing the technical solution and Viasat as a whole.
  • Collaborate with team members across the organization to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Supervision and oversight of the technical team located across multiple geographical locations.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences, building relationships and staying abreast of current technologies.
  • Apply a collaborative/consultative working and leadership style, relying on common sense and personal competence for persuasion and consensus building.

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience across satellite communications and telecommunications end-to-end network design and implementation, with a strong track record of success in leading sophisticated technical projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Experience developing solutions and managing delivery of solutions throughout execution.
  • Highly knowledgeable with multivendor IT infrastructure and cloud architecture design and implementation.
  • Supervision of teams over diverse geographical locations.
  • Proven ability to lead development of technical solutions, inform proposal efforts, and participate in ongoing business development.
  • Experience working with program, project, and product managers.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related Technical Field.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Current US DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to travel 10%

Salary range: $143,500.00 – $204,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $178,500.00- $241,500.00/ annually : At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
