MassArt’s Center for Art and Community Partnerships (CACP) partners with people and communities within and beyond MassArt to radically expand access to transformative creative experiences. CACP is the central office for the development of well-grounded art- and design-based community engagement activities. As such, it is a primary vehicle for engaging the college’s artistic, scholarly, and educational expertise with the broader community. CACP supports MassArt’s mission in preparing artists, designers, and educators from diverse backgrounds to shape communities, economies, and cultures for the common good. CACP builds bridges to Boston communities with projects and programs that are grounded in the belief that art and design can change the world.sparc! the ArtMobile is an initiative of the Center for Art and Community Partnerships at MassArt (CACP) sparc! is a retrofitted van fully stocked with art supplies and equipment that brings innovative and intergenerational art and design programs to the community. sparc! works closely with neighborhood organizations, schools, and businesses to partner in community events, share resources, nurture collaborative community relationships, and build sustainable pathways to MassArt. In partnership with CACP’s Associate Director / Director of sparc! the ArtMobile, co-manage critical aspects of sparc! the ArtMobile at MassArt and within the wider community.
Lead the sparc! student team to develop programming that meaningfully engages the sparc!’s many communities
Assemble a team of students to work on sparc! projects and programming.
Co-lead sparc! student team: co- facilitating weekly meetings, implementing trainings and professional development, offering support and supervision
Manage the sparc! team members schedules and assigning tasks and projects
Collaborate with the CACP team to develop and facilitate monthly PartnershipWORKS sessions for the CACP student cohort
Purchase sparc! materials and track inventory
Responsible for organization and preparation of all sparc! supplies and equipment
Track programmatic budget
Assist Associate Director in creating and implementing evaluation strategiesCommunity Engagement + Youth Development
Engage with community partners via person-to-person meetings to increase awareness of MassArt’s CACP, and sparc!’s rich resources
Support the building of accessible pathways to connect MassArt’s resources to partner organizations, especially those that serve youth in out of school time
Collaborate with CACP Associate Director to design innovative arts programming with partners within and beyond MassArt
Contribute to meetings of select community groups
Maintaining an environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds, nationalities, and roles.
Maintain meaningful relationships with partnering Youth organizationsCommunications and Marketing
Work with CACP Associate Directors to develop CACP’s social media platforms with timely and meaningful content
Oversee documentation of sparc!’s projects and experiences including installations, performances, and events into shareable format
Oversee the archive of sparc! events and activities
Supervise outreach efforts by overseeing student content creation for promotional flyers, blog posts, and social media posts
Build effective partnerships with co-workers throughout the University by freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed
Support fundraising efforts for CACP generally and the Fern Cunningham Terry Fund in particular
Performs other related duties as assigned.sparc! the ArtMobile Van
Responsible for understanding and adhering to MassArt policy related to driving
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the ArtMobile van
Ensure the vehicle is maintained, fueled, and presentable at all times
Knowledge of the state laws, rules and regulations and safety practices governing motor vehicle operation
Adhere to the vehicle’s passenger limit
Responsible for loading and unloading equipment and supplies
Support CACP Associate Director with ensuring preventive maintenance on the ArtMobileRequirements:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art Education, Community Arts / Youth Development or related field OR equivalent experience.
Minimum three (3) years’ experience working in community-based arts education and community engagement and/or youth development.
Current and valid Massachusetts Driver’s License; in good standingKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated strength in relationship-building skills with a diverse array of community partners and college community
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Strong verbal communication and writing skills
Proficiency with full range of office computer application and functions
Creative problem solving skills
Interest in developing art and design curricula
Ability to lift and carry objectsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Current active artistic practice
Conversational fluency in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Portuguese
Working knowledge of photo and graphic-based programs (Adobe Suite especially: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) a plus.
Experience developing art and design curriculum
Committed to neighborhood engagementWORKING CONDITIONS:

May stand for long periods of time, walking and driving.
