- Provides instruction in culinary arts and individual assistance
- Assesses educational needs of inmates
- Plans and outlines necessary class objective
- Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training
- Prepares and administers tests within the framework of the program
- Gives individual instruction and encouragement to the trainee as needed
- Maintains records of vocational students on attendance, achievement, attitude and conduct
- May order supplies and materials needed
- Issue and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies used in culinary arts program
- Work with other departments in the Institution as part of total team approach to the rehabilitation effort
- Performs other related duties as required
QualificationsMust meet eligibility requirements for Teacher Certificate/License appropriate for career-tech – culinary arts & grade level as assigned*; Teacher 1, 71591, must also have baccalaureate degree or less per OEA agreement; NOTE: Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.Job Skills: Education, Food Service, Developing Others, Emotional Intelligence, Cultural Awareness, Customer Focus
